Free means free: why LinkOut has no catches

Most free plans are a trial in disguise. Ours is a product. Here is exactly where the line between Free and Pro sits, and why.

By The LinkOut team

Every link-in-bio tool says it is free. Then you hit the wall: the theme you like is locked, email capture wants a card, and the badge at the bottom is the price of admission until you pay.

We built LinkOut because we wanted a page we could actually use for free, and a paid plan we would be happy to pay for. So here is the line, in plain words.

What Free includes

  • Unlimited links and blocks. Galleries, videos, FAQs, countdowns, opening hours, the lot.
  • All 24 themes. Not eight. All of them, fully customisable.
  • Email capture for up to 250 subscribers, with consent stored properly.
  • Analytics for the last 7 days, without cookies.
  • QR codes, a business card, 10 short links, and the Calendly or cal.com embed.

The one thing Free carries is a small LinkOut badge at the bottom of your page. That is how new people find us. It is the whole business model, and we think it is a fair trade.

What Pro is for

Pro is for people running a business from their link. It removes the badge, and it unlocks the money-making blocks: bookings and webinars, digital products, memberships, a small store, email gates, forms with payments, full analytics with a visitor log, SEO controls and integrations.

It costs $20 a month or $200 a year. In India it is ₹1,000 a month or ₹10,000 a year, because pricing everything in dollars is lazy.

The other catch we refuse to have

We never take a cut of what you sell. You connect your own Stripe, PayPal or Razorpay, and every rupee or dollar goes to you. Our revenue comes from Pro subscriptions, not from a percentage of your work.

That is it. No trial that turns into a bill, no bait-and-switch on features, no fee hiding in your sales. If we ever change any of this, you will read about it here first.
